At the beginning of November, with the help of not 1 or 2 but 3 pregnancy tests, it was confirmed that I was pregnant! Matt was at work so I wanted to think of a fun way to let him know because I knew he would be thrilled. So I set up a scavenger hunt around our apartment and the "prize" at the end was the positive test. At first he thought I was just going to take the test, but then he looked closer and realized I already had. He was shocked and amazed, but very happy. Of course, I cried but it was a wonderful night, just talking about all the exciting things that were about to happen.
We wanted to wait to tell our families until we went to Michigan for Christmas, so until this point only the people that we work with know. We had our first doctor appointment at 6 weeks, Dr. Mark is very nice and answered all of our questions, we brought in 2 full pages of them! After 4 weeks we went back for our second checkup. We were unable to hear the heartbeat at first because the nurse said the baby was too deep in the uterus. We then had our first sonogram and saw our little peanut for the first time! The heartbeat was strong, and we even saw baby move his or her arms up and down. Dr. said baby was about 1 inch long and everything looked good. I cried again, and Matt had lots of questions to ask. We go back again at the beginning of January.
So far the pregnancy has gone really well. I haven't been sick, but do feel more tired than I used to. Matt has been really good at helping out and we have been reading up to learn everything that we can. Until next time, love you and miss you all!
